New Years is the time when everyone hops forwards and back across that mystical, ephemeral line between years. It’s like you’re doing the splitz with one foot way back in 2011 and the other way forward to the end of 2012. Oh my, how did that happen? Somehow you’ve twisted yourself into a pretzel, your whole body fatigued and contorted with endless resolutions and failures you forgot about.
I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately (the fact that I don’t yet have a day job probably helps!) and setting goals. The word ‘New Year’s resolutions’ is too loaded a word, too time specific. I think it’s important to constantly make goals—hop back and forth across time lines regularly. I want to improve my form without over-extending ligaments, to be flexible while being focused.
So, in the spirit of non-procrastination, of embracing imperfection, and deciding to just do it, I’m starting another 30 days project, The Berlin edition. 2012. Akin to my previous 30 days in June, it will be a place to experiment, record and play. I’ve already been doing lots of creative things this month, but here on the 11th, I’m going to start to record them. Here’s to January: finding a job, practicing German and tapping into that mystical thing called ‘creativity’.

If you are unhappy with your drawing, then please let me know. If you return the artwork then I can give you a full refund, or I can make you a new drawing.
It is necessary that you pay before you’ve received the drawing as I need to know that you are serious about it before I put the time into it. I will be posting the images online as the project goes on.
